8H

The Series 8H boiler is ideal for large residential and light commercial water boiler applications.  The compact design makes it easy to transport through a standard 36-inch doorway and the small footprint means it will fit easily into most boiler rooms.  The 8H has standard safety features, such as a blocked vent switch and flame rollout switch which automatically shut down the boiler if the chimney or flue passages become restricted; other manufacturer’s charge extra for these safety controls.  Simple controls and simple design means the boiler will be easy to service and maintain.

Over 83% Efficiency
The 8H achieves its high efficiency because it uses stainless steel flue baffles in the flue passages to slow down the combustion air flow and allow the pinned heating surface of the sections to extract more heat from the combustion gases.  Three inches of jacket insulation helps to keep the heat in the boiler, which reduces the boiler room temperature and directs the heat out into the system, where it belongs.

The Nipple Difference
As with all Burnham Commercial cast iron boilers, the 8H sections are sealed using durable cast iron sealing nipples.  Cast iron nipples expand and contract along with the boiler sections in order to create a durable watertight seal and are impervious to hot flue gases and petroleum based chemicals, including corrosion inhibitors, pump lubricants and antifreeze.

Three Packaging Options
The 8H is available with three packaging options to meet the individual needs of our customers.  The 8H can be purchased as a knockdown, packaged, or semi-packaged boiler.

Knockdown boilers will ship in a stackable, reinforced cardboard container.  The assembled sections will be shipped on a steel base with burners and manifold pre-installed.  Controls, trim, drafthood and jacket will ship together in the same container.  Many customers prefer this shipping method because all the parts are located in a single container.

Semi-Packaged boilers will be shipped on two separate skids.  One skid will contain the base burner manifold and section assembly, the other skid will contain the controls, trim, drafthood and jacket.  This is preferred by some wholesalers because they are easier to stock.

Packaged boilers are assembled, jacketed and shipped in a reinforced cardboard container.  Drafthood, trim, low water cutoff and damper; when supplied, are shipped in separate cartons.  Packaged units are ready to be set in place and installed without any on-site assembly or wiring.
